Jumping Rope to Lose Weight? Use Speed Ropes!
Jumping rope has been around for ages. In fact, it has been a staple exercise in any circus act for years. But it has only recently become a main staple in many gyms, even though most people know how to use one. For one thing, it's a great way to get a cardiovascular workout without having to do anything strenuous.
Unlike other jumping rope workouts, this is specifically made to last. It's adjustable and is constructed so that it can last longer than cheap jumping ropes. It's also got the added advantage of utilizing bearings (again, the awesome name), so it will spin even faster when you do get good at it. No matter the rope you choose, jumping rope to lose weight can be the smarter move you ever make.
But how does this particular exercise to help you lose weight? By using your cardio vascular system for hours on end, as well as burning calories, it's a fantastic way to burn calories. These workouts don't just burn fat, either. By increasing your muscle stamina, your overall metabolic rate increases, which results in a higher calorie burn during your normal daily activities.
One of the more common forms of jumping rope involves doing the three different jumps, which are done by alternating hands. The basic idea is to first start out on one leg, and then, after you've warmed up enough, do the second leg. The jump rope isn't really about developing speed; it's all about developing agility and core strength. In fact, some people training for a half-marathon might do twice the same number of repetitions on the same leg as they would for a one-leg jog step, because they need their calf muscles and hip muscles to support the extra weight.
Of course, the one-leg jog step is also good for interval training. Jog steps burn more fat than other forms of exercises, because they require so much more of an effort. A well-designed, intense interval training program, performed three times a week, will provide a continuous source of fat-burning workouts that don't take place over long periods of time. Of course, you need to do your homework, and learn about what types of exercises are most effective for burning fat and building muscle. A two-minute interval training workout using only your leg muscles is a great way to burn fat and build muscle. There are many different types of leg jogs, including:
Jumping rope exercises are not limited to those who workout at a gym. They are, however, excellent for both home and casual fitness workouts. If you have friends who you would like to invite to join in your workouts, jumping rope behind a gym is a great way to get them all working together at once. You can make this workout fun by setting up the obstacle course ahead of time. It could be a simple circle with one end steeper than the other. Or it could be a simple obstacle course laid out in the backyard.
When working out with a friend, one of the things that you might want to consider is whether it would be better to use speed rope or power rope. For home fitness workouts, you might want to use both. Power ropes are easier to swing around and use for more advanced workouts. Because they are harder to swing around, you might want to consider purchasing a couple of jump ropes. Then you can rotate them as needed and keep rotating them, and using the power ropes for when your stamina is low and you need to focus on stamina instead.
As you continue to use your calves as your jumping rope foundation, you will want to continue to do so until your strength in your calves is able to withstand the increased level of calories that you are burning. The more calories you are able to burn with your cardio workouts, the more fat you will burn, and the more weight you will lose. The key thing is to have fun. The more fun you have with your jumping rope workouts, the more likely you are to stick with it to achieve your goals. The more fun you have, the more likely you are to see results, and the more calories you will drop.
